This is a 1120-acre non-governmental test facility in Bothwell, Utah, is designed for comprehensive explosive site analysis, testing, and safety research.
- PRINCIPLE TESTING AREA: 600-lb detonation limit.
– – Includes ATF approved High Explosive, Low Explosive and Blasting Agent magazines.
- LARGE TEST AREA: Provides a 2,000-lb detonation limit.
Capabilities
Full capability for conducting Substance and Article tests on explosives, propellants, pyrotechnics, other energetic materials and substances. This includes materials for which exclusion is sought from the explosives class (Class 1) and substances of unknown energetic content.
Handling
Full capability for receiving, storing and handling explosives.
Compliance
Tests are conducted per the various UN Test Series contained in the United Nations Manual of Tests and Criteria, the Code of Federal Regulations (49 CFR) and per various MIL-STDs and STANAG requirements.
